Nadia Elena Comaneci

In 1976, she was famous after she scored her only ever perfect 10 on an asymmetrical bar during the Montreal Olympic Games. In addition, she went on to earn six more perfect tens in order to be one of the youngest Olympic Gold Medalist. Nadia Comaneci was able to attract international attention and help Romania to establish itself on the world map. Through achieving a feat that was unattainable the sport's icon helped bring gymnastics to the forefront of the world's the spotlight. The perception of women gymnasts was changed by her performance. The effect she had on Olympics was so significant that two of her moves including the toe-on and release, are named in her honor. Both are rated as difficult to the highest level. Apart from the Olympics, she showed remarkable performance at her participation in the World Championships and European Championships too, making her the living legend of her time in the sport and amongst the most well-known gymnasts anyone could achieve.
